Kit Siang’s desperate attempt to distract Malaysians
Salleh Said Keruak
Lim Kit Siang’s ‘Open Letter’ to all Cabinet Members today would be expected from a political novice but not from someone who boasts of being more than 50 years in politics. The ‘Open Letter’ was an odd experiment by Mr. Kit Siang that was sadly amateurish. It is obvious that Mr Kit Siang is audaciously trying to divert the attention from the RCI findings regarding the Bank Negara forex scandal of more than 25 years ago, which are very damaging to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In essence, Kit Siang is saying Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak should not go to the US to meet President Donald Trump until he clears himself of all allegations regarding 1MDB. What allegations? The US never made any allegations against Najib. It was Mahathir who made those allegations.
Kit Siang’s statement is devoid of any logic and common sense and is unbecoming of someone who should be a veteran politician. Perhaps Kit Siang is actually scared that Najib’s visit to the US is going to prove that the DoJ is not after Najib after all, as the opposition is trying to suggest.
